The Cathedral

Cathedral Chapter

The Cathedral Chapter is the supreme body that oversees the Cathedral activities especially in areas of worship and physical development, and works hand in hand with the Cathedral Parish Council.

The Cathedral Chapter meets thrice in a year while its sub committees meet frequently.

Within the same period major Episcopal and Diocesan services are celebrated at the Cathedral.
For the last three years Cathedral Chapter’s role at St Andrew’s has been felt, such role included; reviewing the Cathedral Constitution and Statutes, Physical Planning of the compound, sourcing for Cathedral furniture and pew. Parishes, churches, individual members and families donated pews while some became guests of honor during the Cathedral fundraising ceremonies.

Worship and Church Growth he Cathedral held worship services with clearly selected themes and songs. Guest speakers were invited in order to meet the spiritual needs of the congregation. The Cathedral also observed the liturgical calendar.
The registered membership has increased from 1200 in 2011 to 1890 in 2013. One hundred and four (104) new members from other churches were admitted into the Anglican Church and 12 people gave their lives to Christ.
In order to effectively serve the growing number of young people, we adjusted our services schedule so as to accommodate and create a Youth Service.

The Services are as follows:
Swahili Service 7:00am-8:00am
Youth Service 8:00am-9:20am
Main Service (English) 9:30am-11:30am
Kikuyu Service 11:30am- 1:00pm

The following people were elected as Cathedral Chapter representatives:
Mrs. Nelius Mburu
Mrs. Catherine Kamau
Mr. Charles Wachira
